Host Organisation: Down to Earth
Location: Little Bryn Gwyn, Cilibion, Near Llanrhidian, Swansea SA3 1BG
Description: Down to Earth is delivering three hands-on workshops tackling the climate crisis, community resilience, and innovative strategies to adapt and mitigate climate change. Held in stunning venues showcasing biophilic design and natural materials to create sustainable community infrastructure, these events provide real-world examples of how practical, communal approaches can reduce climate impacts. Led by expert facilitators, the sessions will focus on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, emphasising individual and community action, fairness, and social justice. With the aim of inspiring marginalised communities in Wales, the workshops will showcase what can be achieved through community-led sustainable development and demonstrate how collective action benefits both people and the planet. Participants will have the chance to discuss local concerns and identify resources to strengthen community resilience. Together, participants will explore how the Welsh Government and public services, through the Well-being of Future Generations Act, can support communities in building adaptive capacity.
