Save the date: Wales Climate Week 2024

Monday 11th – Friday 15th November

Theme: Shaping a climate resilient future

Wales Climate Week will be back in November 2024, bringing together people from across Wales to share learnings, stimulate ideas and encourage discussion on solutions for tackling climate change.

This year, the Week will coincide with the global COP29 summit and will follow publication of a new national Wales climate resilience strategy (scheduled for the Autumn). Sessions will reflect on the new strategy and how we can work together to deliver cross-sector climate resilience plans. The Week will also showcase projects and programmes being delivered to build resilience to climate change within our communities and the natural environment across Wales.

This year’s event will include:

A 5-day virtual conference – to be held between 11th-15th November, the virtual conference will feature sessions on the impact of climate change in our communities, on nature, agriculture, food security, business, transport, buildings and more, and the opportunity that action will bring to our health and wellbeing, environment and economy. If you are interested in hosting a session, details on how to apply will be published here soon.

Climate Conversations fund – following the success of the Climate Conversations 2023 events, the Welsh Government will be re-opening the community engagement fund in 2024. The aim of the fund will be to encourage applications from organisations interested in holding workshops with communities and members of the public on the topic of climate risk and resilience. Further information on the fund, including how to apply, funding conditions and the timeframe for holding the events, will be published here this Summer.

Fringe events – if you are holding an event to coincide with Wales Climate Week, please get in touch and we will publish details of your event on the Wales Climate Week fringe events calendar.

Further information will be published on the Week soon. If you would like to share any ideas for the Week or if you have a question, then please contact us via email at climatechange@gov.wales.
